Latest news from Ivory Coast

This is copied from a letter that a missionary wrote.  He and his family are currently in Ivory Coast.  Please continue to pray for this country.  There are hundreds of Christian believers being effected by these circumstances!

"As you know, since October we have been having political problems.  These problems, up until now, have not been too openly visible. This last week, that has started to change.  We are starting to see a serious turn in the economy and stability here.  There have been at least 5 banks that have closed the doors to all their branches here in Ivory Coast.  We have also seen a diminished stock in all the grocery stores and markets.  All the sanctions and financial blocks are starting to really take effect.  The country is out of gas, money and probably very shortly food.  For the time being we have power and water, but the government stole all the money from the power companies last month to pay the government employees.  So our power is dependant solely on nothing breaking as there is no money to fix it.  PLEASE BE IN PRAYER THAT ONE OF THE MEN WANTING TO BE PRESIDENT WILL BE ABLE TO FULLY TAKE POWER.  Right now they are both playing a game of "If I can't have it, nobody gets it." at the expense of about 16 million people."
